Arabic Text Book 3 Chapter 12

Paragraph 1

الأم: ما هذا الصوت؟ ماذا كسرت يا فاطمة؟

الخادمة: الزهريّة يا سيدتى. دخلت غرفة الاستقبال لأمسحها وعندما لمست

الزهريّة وقعت.

Mother: What is this sound? What did you break Fatima?

Maid: Flower vase, Madam. I entered the reception room to wipe it and when I touched
The flower vase fell down.

Paragraph 2

الأم : إذن. أنت كسرتها.

الخادمة: ما كسرتها. كانت الزهريّة مكسورة من قبل. تمستها فقط:

وجدتها نصفين.

Mother: So. You broke it.

Maid: I did not break it. The vase was broken before. I just touched it. I found it was two halves.

Paragraph 3

الأم: هذا كالم لا يصدّقه العقل.

الخادمة: هذا ما حدث.

الأم: أنت تكذبين, وستدفعين ثمن الزهرة …هذه ليست أوّل مرة تكسرين فيها شيئا.

Mother: This is unbelievable.

Maid: That's what happened.

Mother: You are telling lies, and you will pay the price of the flower vase ... This is not the first time you break something.

Paragraph 4

مصطفى: يا أمّي , أنا ... الذي كسرت الزهرية.

الأم: أنت !؟ ولماذا سكت طول هذا الوقت؟

مصطفى: كنت خائفا

الأم: وكيف كسرت الزهريّة؟

Mustafa: Mom, I ... who broke the flower vase.
Mother: You !? Why did you keep silent for so long?
Mustafa: I was scared
Mother: How did you break the vase?

Paragraph 5

مصطفى: دخلت غرفة االستقبال لآخذ بعض الحلوى فصدمت المنضدة

فسقطت الزهرية وانكسرت نصفين.

الأم: ثمّ لصقت النصفين كأن األزهرية سليمة.

مصطفى: تعم ، هذا ما حدث.

Mustafa: I went into the reception room to take some candy and the table hit

The vase fell and two halves were broken.

Mother: Then paste the halves as if the vase is intact.

Mustafa: Yes, that's what happened.

Paragraph 6

الأم: والآن. اعتذر لفاطمة.

مصطفى: أنا آسف يا فاطمة. أنا الذي كسرت الزهريّة.

الخادمة: كانت الزهريّة مكسورة من قبل يا سيدتي

.الأم:أنت صادقة. وأنا سعيدة لانّ مصطفى صادق.

وأنا آسفة يا فاطمة.

Mother: Now, You apologize to Fatima.

Mustafa: I'm sorry, Fatima. I who broke the vase.

Maid: The vase was broken by my lady!

Mother: You're honest. I am happy because Mustafa is honest.

I am sorry, Fatima.

Exercise 3:

1) The flower vase was broken in the dining room. Answer - No - ( لا )

2) Fathima had broken many things before the flower vase.
Answer - Yes - ( نعم )

3) Mustafa could not understand what happened to the flower vase.

Answer - No - ( لا )

4) The cost of the broken flower vase is 100 riyals.
Answer - Don't Know -( لا أعرف )

5) The mother was happy because her son Mustafa was truthful.
Answer - Yes - ( نعم )
